Hamad Medjedovic53Game context
Hamad Medjedovic enters the Cincinnati Open first-round matchup as the clear market favorite over veteran Marco Trungelliti, reflecting traders' emphasis on the 23-year-old Serb's higher ranking (No. 73), recent ATP form, and superior athletic profile on hard courts. Medjedovic leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a straight-sets win on clay in Barcelona earlier this year and holds a career-high ranking of 56 achieved in May 2026. Trungelliti, ranked around No. 90 at age 36, has shown resilience by advancing through Cincinnati qualifiers with victories over players like Kei Nishikori, yet faces a steep challenge against a younger opponent with greater baseline power and consistency. Surface transition from recent clay events and the Masters 1000 draw position further tilt consensus toward the Serbian in what remains a competitive opening match.
