Swedish Open: Max Dahlin vs Sebastian Baez

Game context
**Max Dahlin faces a steep challenge against eighth-seeded Sebastián Báez in the Nordea Open round of 32 on outdoor clay in Båstad.** Báez, ranked No. 57 with a career-high of 18 and seven ATP titles, brings far greater professional experience and proven clay-court results, including strong baseline consistency suited to the slow red surface. Dahlin, a Swedish wildcard ranked outside the top 1,000 and transitioning from college tennis at Michigan, benefits from local support and recent ITF-level form but lacks ATP match toughness. The matchup features no prior head-to-head meetings, with Báez favored by the significant ranking and experience gap typical of such encounters. Recent player schedules show Báez competing steadily through mid-2026 events, while Dahlin’s pro exposure remains limited ahead of this home-soil test.
