Alexander Bublik enters the US Open second-round matchup as the clear favorite against veteran Adrian Mannarino, backed by his higher ranking near No. 16, superior hard-court power, and stronger 2026 win rate. Bublik arrives rested after reaching the Kitzbuhel final in July and posting a controlled four-set win over J.J. Wolf in round one, favoring big serving and aggressive baseline play. Mannarino, ranked No. 67 at age 38, comes off a grueling five-set upset of Thiago Agustin Tirante but carries a poor recent record with multiple straight-set losses on the North American swing. Their head-to-head stands even at 1-1 on hard courts, though trader consensus reflects Bublik’s edge in consistency and athleticism for this Grand Slam encounter.
