US Open, Qualification ATP: Alex Bolt vs Pablo Llamas Ruiz

Game context
Alex Bolt and Pablo Llamas Ruiz meet in the first round of US Open qualifying on outdoor hard courts, where Llamas Ruiz enters as the higher-ranked player near ATP No. 130 after reaching a career-high of 116 in July. The 23-year-old Spaniard holds recent main-draw appearances at Roland Garros and Wimbledon plus stronger 2026 results, while the 33-year-old Australian veteran sits around No. 160 with a 34-23 record over the past year and solid hard-court experience from Challenger events. Their head-to-head is split one win apiece, including a three-set Llamas Ruiz victory on clay at 2025 French Open qualifying and a Bolt win on hard in Canberra. No major injury reports or late withdrawals have surfaced, though form swings in qualifying draws and potential fatigue from recent travel remain variables that could influence the outcome on this fast surface.
