Himeno Sakatsume1
Jazmin Ortenzi0Game context
Himeno Sakatsume holds the ranking edge at No. 136 against Jazmin Ortenzi’s No. 159 in this US Open qualifying first-round hard-court match, reflecting her career-high mark of 121 reached earlier in 2026 and steadier recent results. Sakatsume’s 24-21 record this season includes deeper runs in WTA events, while Ortenzi sits at 21-13 but has endured a roughly two-month layoff that may affect sharpness. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving surface-specific form and current fitness as primary variables; qualifying draws often reward consistent ball-striking and return pressure on the faster New York courts. Trader pricing reflects the Japanese player’s modest edge in experience and momentum heading into the event.
