Golden State Valkyries vs. Minnesota Lynx

Game context
Minnesota Lynx hold a commanding 9-0 all-time series lead over the expansion Golden State Valkyries, including a 77-66 road win on August 20 that featured strong defensive play and contributions from Napheesa Collier, Kayla McBride, and rookie Olivia Miles before her late ankle tweak. The Lynx sit at 31-7 atop the Western Conference with the league’s best record and defense, while the Valkyries (25-11) trail by five games and have dropped their last two contests amid a five-game road swing. Minnesota’s top-end talent has repeatedly overwhelmed Golden State’s depth and three-point volume in prior matchups. Courtney Williams remains sidelined for the Lynx, and the Valkyries continue without season-long absences including Kayla Thornton. The teams meet again on August 24 at Target Center, where recent form, head-to-head history, and roster health shape trader views on the outcome.
