UFC Fight Night: Wes Schultz vs. Jackson McVey (Middleweight, Prelims)

Game context
Jackson McVey enters this middleweight prelim as the slight favorite after rebounding from two early UFC submission losses with a first-round D’Arce choke finish over Sedriques Dumas in April. The 27-year-old southpaw’s high finishing rate, clinch work, and reach advantage at 6'4" have shaped trader consensus around his improved threat level. Wes Schultz, a 30-year-old submission specialist riding a guillotine win over Ben Johnston, brings grappling upside but has shown vulnerability to strikes in recent outings. Their 2020 amateur meeting, won by Schultz via armbar, adds historical context without overriding McVey’s current momentum and first-round finishing history. No major injuries or late changes have altered the matchup on the Sacramento card.
