Game context

The New York Yankees enter this interleague series at Yankee Stadium with a superior 64-50 record but face notable roster challenges from injuries to Aaron Judge (ribs), Giancarlo Stanton (calf), Cody Bellinger (hamstring), and starting pitchers Carlos Rodon and Clarke Schmidt. These absences have thinned the lineup and rotation depth heading into recent matchups. The St. Louis Cardinals (56-58) have countered with strong recent offensive output, including multi-homer performances from players like Alec Burleson, while managing their own day-to-day concerns such as Jordan Walker's knee inflammation. Home-field advantage and overall team depth continue to shape trader consensus on implied probabilities, though ongoing pitching matchups and lineup adjustments remain key variables for the remainder of the series.
