Minnesota Twins vs. Athletics

Game context
The Minnesota Twins (64-69) enter the rubber match of their three-game series against the Athletics (52-81) at Sutter Health Park with stronger overall standing and AL wild-card implications, despite dropping the middle game 4-2 on August 25 after a 9-6 opener win. Taj Bradley struck out 11 but surrendered four runs, while Athletics starter Gage Jump limited damage with nine strikeouts. Twins center fielder Byron Buxton remains day-to-day with recurring right hip discomfort and is out of the August 26 lineup, joining other pitching absences including Joe Ryan. Probable starters Connor Prielipp and J.T. Ginn face off in a matchup where the Athletics have shown occasional resilience at home but trail significantly in the standings and recent form.
