Game context
Houston Astros (49-54) hold a clear edge over the last-place Los Angeles Angels (38-61) heading into their matchup, buoyed by back-to-back wins against the Marlins that snapped a skid. Houston’s offense has found rhythm from Yordan Alvarez and Isaac Paredes, though day-to-day hamstring and hip issues for Jeremy Peña and Christian Walker, plus longer absences for Carlos Correa and others, complicate lineup construction. The Angels continue to battle multiple IL placements, including Adam Frazier’s elbow and Ben Joyce’s shoulder, limiting depth in a rebuilding year. Recent form, home/road splits, and pitching matchups will shape implied probabilities, with roster health and bullpen reliability remaining pivotal variables.
