Detroit Tigers vs. Houston Astros

Game context
Detroit Tigers (30-43) visit Houston Astros (34-41) for the rubber game of their three-game series at Daikin Park on June 17, with the series tied 1-1 after Detroit's 9-3 win featuring Colt Keith's three home runs and a 1-0 Tigers lead in game two. The Astros, fourth in the AL West and on a six-game homestand, have dealt with pitching returns from the IL including Hunter Brown while facing offensive pressure from Detroit's recent form. Tigers starters like Casey Mize and bullpen options add matchup considerations against Houston's available arms, amid minor injury notes such as Gleyber Torres' day-to-day status. Both clubs sit well back in their divisions, making roster health, recent scoring trends, and home/road splits central to assessing the closely contested outcome.
