Boston Red Sox vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Game context
The Dodgers enter this August 2 matchup at Dodger Stadium with the best record in the National League, powered by elite pitching depth and a potent lineup featuring Mookie Betts and other proven contributors. Recent series results show the visiting Red Sox securing a win the prior night behind strong bullpen work from Aroldis Chapman, highlighting Boston's competitive AL East positioning and momentum despite a more modest overall mark. Key Red Sox injuries, including long-term absences for starters like Garrett Crochet and day-to-day concerns around Willson Contreras, limit lineup flexibility and starting rotation options. Home-field factors at Dodger Stadium, combined with the Dodgers' season-long run differential advantage, shape trader views on the implied probabilities, while Boston's recent form offers realistic upset potential in what remains a closely contested interleague contest
