Baltimore Orioles vs. Athletics

Game context
Baltimore Orioles (66-69) enter the series against the Athletics (53-82) with momentum after a 4-3 extra-innings win on August 28, powered by late RBI singles from Coby Mayo and Christian Encarnacion-Strand. The Orioles sit within two games of the final AL wild-card spot and have gone 5-2 in their last seven games, while the Athletics remain last in the AL West with a 4-6 mark over their past 10. Shane Baz (4-14, 4.04 ERA) takes the mound against Jack Perkins (3-9, 6.68 ERA) in the next contest at Sutter Health Park. Multiple roster absences on both sides, including long-term injuries to Baltimore’s Jordan Westburg and Ryan Mountcastle plus Athletics regulars like Shea Langeliers and Brent Rooker, shape lineup depth and bullpen usage for the remainder of the series.
