Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Boston Red Sox

Game context
The August 19 matchup at Fenway Park features the Diamondbacks (66-61) visiting the Red Sox (68-58), with Boston holding a modest home edge after a 9-4 win the prior evening. Brandon Pfaadt (7-1, 3.11 ERA) takes the mound for Arizona against rookie Payton Tolle (8-6, 2.97 ERA) for Boston, a contest where the Red Sox bullpen depth and recent offensive surge—led by contributors like Wilyer Abreu—have shaped trader positioning. Key injuries include Diamondbacks third baseman Nolan Arenado (day-to-day) and multiple Red Sox absences such as Trevor Story and Roman Anthony on the IL, alongside Ketel Marte's restricted-list situation for Arizona. Both clubs sit in playoff contention within their respective divisions, with the D-backs aiming to halt a road skid and Boston leveraging Fenway familiarity in a tightly contested NL West-AL East interleague game.
