ITF M25 Taipei 2 Men: Ryuki Matsuda vs Chun-Chien Hou

Game context
Ryuki Matsuda enters this ITF M25 Taipei 2 round-of-16 clash on outdoor hard courts as the clear ranking favorite at approximately No. 797, well ahead of Chun-Chien Hou’s position near 1,578. The 26-year-old Japanese player brings greater ITF and ATP experience, with a career-high singles mark near the top 200s, while the 20-year-old Taiwanese competitor is still building results at this level. Recent hard-court swings in the Taipei series highlight Matsuda’s stronger recent form and consistency against comparable opposition. Head-to-head history favors Matsuda in prior meetings, though Hou’s home-soil familiarity and potential for aggressive baseline play create realistic upset scenarios on any given day. No reported injuries or late withdrawals affect either player ahead of the scheduled start.
