Game context

Guyana Amazon Warriors enter their July 25 matchup against Desert Vipers at Providence Stadium with notable home advantage in the opening round of the 2026 Global Super League T20 tournament. The hosts field a balanced squad captained by Chris Green, blending CPL regulars such as Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, and Romario Shepherd with overseas options including Glenn Phillips and Imran Tahir. Desert Vipers, the reigning ILT20 champions led by Shadab Khan, rely on players like Rilee Rossouw, Daryl Mitchell, and Kyle Jamieson after an injury swap for Jason Behrendorff. Both sides bring strong T20 pedigrees into the single round-robin format, with pitch conditions and recent squad finalizations shaping early trader assessments of the contest.
