Dalibor Svrcina66Game context
Dalibor Svrcina enters as the clear favorite in this US Open qualifying first-round matchup on hard courts, backed by his higher ranking (around No. 113-134, career high No. 86) and No. 8 seed status versus Felipe Meligeni Alves (No. 459). Svrcina has recent ATP-level exposure on North American hard courts, including a Los Cabos quarterfinal run and mixed qualifying results in Montreal and Cincinnati, while maintaining solid serve and return metrics. Meligeni Alves arrives with strong recent form from clay-court ITF and Challenger wins but limited hard-court success at this level and a significant ranking gap. The best-of-three format on outdoor hard favors the Czech’s experience in similar conditions, though qualifying draws remain volatile with potential for upsets from motivated lower-ranked opponents.
