Ben Shelton40Game context
Ben Shelton enters the Cincinnati Open second-round matchup on hard courts with strong momentum after capturing the Montreal title without dropping a set, extending his 2026 hard-court record and adding to multiple prior titles. The higher-ranked American has shown consistent depth and power in recent events, facing no prior head-to-head history with Faria. Jaime Faria, ranked near No. 79, advanced via qualifying and secured his first Masters 1000 win against Jenson Brooksby but holds a more limited record at this level with mixed recent results. Shelton’s experience edge and current form create a significant gap, though Faria’s recent career-high ranking and aggressive baseline game offer potential for competitive sets if he maintains consistency.
