Todi: Filippo Romano vs Massimo Giunta

Game context
Filippo Romano enters the first-round clash at the 2026 ATP Challenger 75 in Todi as the higher-ranked Italian at approximately No. 300, holding a career-high near 165-298 and showing flashes of form on clay earlier in the season with multiple wins in May and June. Massimo Giunta, ranked around 418-422 with a career high of 418, received a wildcard into his home Challenger event and carries less recent experience at this level despite solid ITF results. The clay-court matchup features two right-handers with no prior head-to-head history, giving Romano an edge in ranking points, consistency, and overall depth. Home-soil support and recent schedule spots could influence both players’ energy levels in what appears a closely contested opener on the Todi draw.
