Canadian Open: Terence Atmane vs Jack Draper

Game context
Jack Draper enters this first-round National Bank Open matchup in Montreal on outdoor hard courts as the clear favorite, buoyed by his higher ranking and ATP experience despite a limited 2026 schedule marred by left-arm injury. The Brit, coached by Andy Murray and recently awarded a main-draw wild card, has played just five events this year and withdrew from Washington ahead of this event while aiming to build match fitness for the US Open. Terence Atmane, ranked around 56, arrives in stronger recent form after upsetting Frances Tiafoe in Washington before falling to Alejandro Tabilo, though his overall record remains modest. The pair has no prior head-to-head history, and Draper's rust versus Atmane's momentum will shape early-set dynamics on a surface favoring baseline consistency.
