Yuliia Starodubtseva enters the Memphis Classic exhibition against Sloane Stephens as the higher-ranked player at approximately No. 59-61, with a career-high of No. 53 earlier in 2026 and a 25-19 record on the year. The Ukrainian has shown consistent results across WTA events, contrasting with Stephens’ current No. 313 ranking and 9-12 mark amid a gradual return from extended injury absences. As a former US Open champion receiving a wildcard, Stephens brings extensive hard-court experience and match toughness, yet recent qualifying and lower-tier appearances highlight fitness and form challenges. The hard-court setting at Leftwich Tennis Center favors baseline consistency and movement, areas where Starodubtseva’s recent trajectory provides an edge while Stephens seeks to leverage veteran shot-making in what remains an unpredictable exhibition matchup.
