Game context
Veacheslav Kovalenko and Mykhailo Makienko are frequent opponents in Ukraine’s Setka Cup, where their comparable technical skills, consistency on serve and return, and experience in extended rallies create even matchups. Multiple recent encounters have split results, including Makienko’s straight-sets win on August 13 and Kovalenko’s prior 3-2 victory, reflecting tight head-to-head balance without a dominant edge. Both players maintain similar recent form in the domestic circuit, with no reported injuries or major roster shifts altering preparation.
