Game context
The Minnesota Twins enter their upcoming series at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs with a 47-49 record, sitting third in the AL Central while dealing with multiple pitching injuries, including season-ending elbow issues for Pablo Lopez and forearm concerns for Cole Sands. The Cubs, at 53-42 and second in the NL Central, hold a stronger overall standing and home-field edge at the historic venue.
