Game context

The Miami Marlins (52-45) enter their three-game series at Daikin Park with the better overall record and a stronger position in the NL East standings compared to the Houston Astros (47-51), who sit third in the AL West. The Astros' pitching staff has been decimated by injuries, with starters like Ronel Blanco (elbow) and Lance McCullers Jr. (shoulder) on the IL alongside multiple relievers, which has contributed to their sub-.500 mark and inflated team ERA. Marlins pitching has also dealt with absences, including recent placements for Michael Petersen and William Kempner, but Miami's offense and bullpen depth provide a relative edge in a matchup against a Houston rotation still recovering from the All-Star break. Home-field factors at Daikin Park and recent form trends for both clubs will influence implied probabilities in the closely contested games.
