Boston Red Sox vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Game context
Boston Red Sox enter the series against the Toronto Blue Jays with the stronger record at 64-53 and recent momentum, including an 8-2 stretch that has kept them within striking distance of AL East and wild-card positioning. The Blue Jays sit at 55-62, well out of playoff contention after selling pieces at the deadline, and face added roster strain from multiple injuries, notably George Springer’s shoulder issue and Jonatan Clase’s foot problem. The games at Rogers Centre highlight the visitors’ road advantage and superior run differential, while Toronto’s home performance has not offset broader offensive and pitching inconsistencies. Recent results, such as Boston’s series against Oakland and Toronto’s extra-inning loss to Philadelphia, underscore the gap in current form heading into the matchup.
