ITF Aschaffenburg: Teodora Kostovic vs Jule Niemeier

Game context
Teodora Kostovic enters the ITF W100 Aschaffenburg round of 16 as the clear favorite against Jule Niemeier on clay, driven primarily by a substantial ranking gap—Kostovic sits at No. 184 with a career-high of 159, while Niemeier has fallen to No. 510 after a 7-14 record in 2026. The 19-year-old Serbian has shown strong recent momentum, advancing through Wimbledon qualifying with wins over players like Lin Zhu and Rebecca Sramkova before a first-round loss to Aryna Sabalenka. Niemeier, a former top-100 German with local ties to the event, brings experience but faces ongoing form challenges and limited results at this stage of her career. The matchup favors Kostovic’s current level and consistency, though Niemeier’s home-soil familiarity and any late fitness developments could influence outcomes in a lower-tier ITF setting.
