Game context

Both teams enter the July 29 contest at Sophia Gardens level on four points after two matches apiece in the 2026 Women's Hundred, with Trent Rockets holding a clear edge in net run rate following a nine-wicket demolition of Birmingham Phoenix. Welsh Fire, playing at home, showed improved form with a recent victory after an opening loss, while Rockets demonstrated strong batting depth and bowling control in their latest outing against London Spirit. Key factors include recent momentum, home-ground familiarity for the Fire, and typical Hundred emphasis on power-hitting and death bowling in the 100-ball format. No major injury concerns have surfaced, leaving squad selection and pitch conditions at Cardiff as primary variables heading into the match.
