Cincinnati Reds vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Game context
The upcoming series at PNC Park features the slightly better-positioned Pittsburgh Pirates (around 38-37) hosting the Cincinnati Reds (around 35-38) in the NL Central. Paul Skenes, the Pirates' ace with a strong historical dominance over Cincinnati, is slated to start one game and represents a major edge through his strikeout ability and recent quality outings. The Reds' lineup has been hampered by Elly De La Cruz's right hamstring strain, which placed him on the 10-day IL in early June; his rehab progress could influence availability but leaves the offense without its primary speed and power threat in the near term. Earlier May matchups saw the Pirates power past the Reds in decisive fashion, underscoring home/away splits and bullpen reliability as additional variables in this divisional matchup.
