Game context
The upcoming Cincinnati Reds at Pittsburgh Pirates series at PNC Park features two NL Central clubs separated by three games in the standings, with the Pirates at 38-37 and the Reds at 35-38. Pittsburgh enters with modest home momentum and a deeper starting rotation depth, while Cincinnati faces roster challenges including shortstop Elly De La Cruz on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain and additional pitching staff absences. Earlier 2026 matchups showed Pirates offensive outbursts, including multi-homer games, though both clubs remain in the middle of a competitive division race with limited recent head-to-head data. Weather at game time on June 26 is expected to be mild, with no major postponement risks noted.
