HSBC Championships: Arthur Rinderknech vs Hamad Medjedovic

Game context
Rinderknech enters this ATP 500 first-round grass-court matchup at Queen's Club as the higher-ranked player (No. 24) with greater experience on the surface, including a recent run to the round of 16 in 's-Hertogenbosch. The 30-year-old French player holds a 1-1 head-to-head edge, highlighted by a 2025 Shanghai retirement victory, though the pair has never met on grass. Medjedovic, a 22-year-old ranked No. 67, brings strong recent clay results and a higher Elo rating but limited grass-court exposure after a mixed 2026 hard-court campaign. The fast grass favors big serves and quick points, where Rinderknech's consistency and home-soil comfort provide an edge against the younger Serbian's aggressive baseline game. No significant injuries or withdrawals have altered the draw.
