National Bank Open: Tallon Griekspoor vs Daniel Merida Aguilar

Game context
Tallon Griekspoor enters the National Bank Open fourth round in Montreal with strong recent momentum on hard courts after upsetting Alexander Zverev in the second round and Matteo Arnaldi in the third, extending his best result at the event. The Dutch player, ranked around No. 69, brings experience from multiple ATP-level seasons and a career-high ranking near the top 20. Opponent Daniel Merida Aguilar, a 21-year-old Spaniard ranked No. 63 with a career-high of 59, has posted a solid 2026 campaign including an ATP title in Croatia and consistent Challenger results, though this marks a deeper Masters run. The matchup pits Griekspoor’s proven big-match resilience and serve-heavy game against Merida’s aggressive baseline play and rising confidence; traders view Griekspoor’s edge as driven by recent form and head-to-head inexperience for the younger player.
