Game context
Both teams enter the late-June series at Daikin Park with sub-.500 records and middling divisional standings, Twins at roughly 38-41 in third place in the AL Central and Astros at 37-42 in fourth in the AL West. Recent roster instability includes Twins placing right-hander Bailey Ober on the injured list with elbow inflammation and catcher Ryan Jeffers also sidelined, while Houston has multiple infielders on the 10-day IL. Starting pitching matchups feature Minnesota’s Joe Ryan against Houston arms such as Peter Lambert, with bullpen depth and recent form shaping expectations. The clubs split their May series in Minnesota, and home-field factors plus health updates remain central to assessing outcomes in the current three-game set.
