Lexus Eastbourne Open: Taylor Fritz vs Jan Choinski

Game context
Taylor Fritz enters this Eastbourne round-of-16 clash as the top seed and four-time tournament champion with a dominant recent grass-court record, including a 2025 title and strong Wimbledon performances the prior year. The American arrives after reaching the Halle final, where his serve and baseline aggression remain key assets on the fast surface. British qualifier Jan Choinski, ranked around 106 and making his first notable tour-level run, earned the matchup by outlasting Alexei Popyrin in three sets during qualifying and advancing past Marcos Giron, capitalizing on home support and recent challenger momentum. Fritz’s experience edge, higher ranking, and proven Eastbourne success create a wide implied-probability gap in trader consensus, though Choinski’s height and grass adaptation could test early service holds in the best-of-three format.
