Houston Astros vs. Kansas City Royals

Game context
Both teams enter the June 14 contest at Kauffman Stadium with sub-.500 records, the Astros at 31-39 in the AL West and the Royals at 28-42 near the bottom of the AL Central. Houston’s rotation has been thinned by injuries to starters including Cristian Javier and Hunter Brown on the IL, while Kansas City deals with absences for Cole Ragans and Kris Bubic along with day-to-day concerns for Salvador Perez and others. Recent series play shows the Astros holding a slight edge in head-to-head history at the venue and stronger recent offensive output from players like Jose Altuve, though both clubs carry inconsistent form into this road matchup. Pitching matchups and bullpen availability will likely shape the outcome in a low-stakes interleague-style contest.
