New York Yankees vs. Athletics

Game context
The New York Yankees enter this series with strong momentum after a 5-game winning streak capped by an 8-2 road victory over the Athletics on May 29, powered by Paul Goldschmidt’s three-run homer and Carlos Rodón’s six innings of one-run ball. New York’s lineup continues to produce, with Ben Rice and Aaron Judge adding long balls while the club sits at 35-22. The Athletics, meanwhile, have dropped four straight and lost starter Luis Severino to an early exit in the opener, compounding rotation issues that include Aaron Civale on the injured list. Oakland’s 27-30 record reflects broader struggles, with additional absences such as Jacob Wilson. Probable pitching for the May 31 contest pits Yankees right-hander Will Warren against Jacob Lopez, highlighting a matchup where New York’s depth and recent form contrast with the A’s injury-depleted staff and home struggles.
